Fortunately and unfortunately vacation means only one thing to my kids California which in turns means Disneyland. So we headed for California.
Here are the kids in their new "wobble goggles" which they insisted on wearing the majority of the drive on the first day. I love how long kids can maintain their excitement for things.
We stopped in Las Vegas to help break up the drive and took the kids down the strip to see all the lights. Kennedy kept saying "this is amazing"
The second day we finished the drive to San Diego where we spent the night and then got to have breakfast on the beds the next morning which in of itself was a big deal!
Here we are strolling up to Sea World.
Inside the Sea Word park they have a Sesame Street land which had a couple little rides including the Elmo flying fish ride.
And the Oscar the Grouch roller coaster
As well as a Abi Cadabis(sp) spinning umbrella ride. It was a highlight of the park for two reasons. 1- We spent a large chunk of time here riding rides and climbing all over the tree house thing and 2- because i didn't get pictures of the actual sea animals we were there to see.
Climbing on the soft stuff
Soft Block pit
And then to keep things exciting after we left Sea World we headed up to Anaheim for the second part of the trip. On our way we got to experience first hand rush hour traffic on Friday evening which of course means a lot of stop and go. And what comes with alot of stop and go traffic? a sweet side of car munching. No worries. we were/are all fine the kids slept through the entire thing and the highway patrolman literally walked from his previous accident to ours.
We count it as a blessing that it wasn't worse than this and that we in turn did not hit the car in front of us. In addition to a little stress the car crunching caused we could not longer open the hatch so Dave had to keep loading and unloading our double stroller over the middle seats. all in all not the worst thing in the world but highly inconvenient.
